9 Nov 2004 - LICKEY PERFORM WELL AT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Tuesday 9th November saw a team of 8 Year 6 boys take part in Kidderminster Harriers' 6-a-side football tournament in Kidderminster.
The team was:
A. Foxall (GK)
L. Kelsall (D) J. Melland (D)
C. George (M) S. Green (M)
S. Dale (M) J. Foxall (M)
M. Malley (S)
The boys played well and soon got over initial signs of nervousness. They showed great spirit to come from a goal behind in two of their four matches. The results were:
Lickey 0 - 0 Comberton
Lickey 1 - 1 Aston Fields
Lickey 1 - 1 St. John's Middle
Sion Hill 1 - 0 Lickey
Lickey were very unlucky to have lost their final game as they dominated Sion Hill in the first half but couldn't put their chances away. If they had beaten them, they would have progressed to the next stage of the competition but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
Well done to all the players, they played well as a team and did Lickey proud. Let's hope they show the same spirit when their league matches start next term.
